Initial Ideas

Injury Affecting Everyday Tasks.

During one of the presentations given by Matthew, an artist was mentioned, who had suffered a brain injury. Ally Bain, a photographer who suffered with memory loss after a brain injury. The images show the loss of memory by corrupting the photographic images. The images are fragmented and distorted. I want to bring this idea into my own work. I want to film either myself or someone else, acting out everyday tasks such as brushing their teeth, tying their show laces, and finding it difficult. I want to show the frustration of not being able to do something as well as they used to.

I want to shoot at a very close angle, and show no faces. I want the focus to be on the task they are trying to do, and the frustration while trying to complete them. I am still unsure about the the audio, but I know I do not want any music. I may want to how the audio as what is happening in the frame eg. wringing on a page as the audio. I want to show 5 different tasks:

1. Tying Shoelaces
2. Writing A Name
3. Riding A Bike
4. Brushing Your Teeth
5. Reading A Book
